GB News appoints Geoff Marsh as digital boss

Conservative newscaster GB News has announced the appointment of Geoff Marsh as its chief digital officer.

The exec joins from Reach PLC, where oversaw Daily Express online and launched a number of digital titles including Express.co.uk, DailyStar.co.uk, and OK.co.uk.

At GB News, the exec will lead the company’s investment in digital journalism and distribution across its website, apps, videos, and social media.

Commenting on his appointment, Marsh said: “I’ve seen the growing impact GB News is having, both on the UK media landscape and – more importantly – among audiences across the country. GB News isn’t afraid to be innovative, bold, or different, and its fast-growing reach across all platforms – TV, radio, social and online – proves there’s a huge appetite for that. It’s a vibrant, disruptive brand which genuinely connects with communities so I can’t wait to help scale that and establish GB News as one of Britain’s top digital destinations.”

GB News CEO Angelos Frangopoulos said: “Our digital team has done a terrific job of building a loyal audience from nothing, at speed. Now we’re doubling down on our investment in digital and we’re delighted to have Geoff lead this core part of our business.”
