Irdeto to supply middleware for Akash Digital TV

Beximco Communications, part of Bangladeshi Beximco Group, has announced an extended deal with cybersecurity firm Irdeto. 

Irdeto will provide Beximco with middleware to all new set-top boxes of the nation’s leading DTH service, Akash Digital TV. The operator’s next generation of STBs will all include Irdeto middleware, which will allow it to utilise dynamic advertisement technology to increase ad inventory value. 

This latest deal is an extension of a partnership that was first started in 2019. Dr Tariq Alam, executive director, Beximco Communications, said: “We have built an excellent relationship with Irdeto and we look forward to the further strengthening of our collaboration that enables us to continue to expand the services we provide. We are very excited about the future with this innovative platform and value-added service offerings that will enable us to provide the best possible experience to our subscribers.”
