SkyShowtime to begin rollout on September 20 in Nordics

SkyShowtime, the streaming joint-venture of Comcast and Paramount Global, will launch on September 20.

The service was first revealed in mid-2021, and will bring together entertainment, movies and original series from the NBCUniversal, Sky and Paramount portfolio of brands, including titles from Showtime, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Paramount+ Originals, Sky Studios, Universal Pictures, and Peacock. Highlighted titles include Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion and Minions: The Rise of Gru.

SkyShowtime will launch in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden on September 20, before expanding into the Netherlands in Q4. The streamer will subsequently roll out across Spain, Portugal, Andorra, and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) markets including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia through Q1 2023.

The companies have confirmed that SkyShowtime will replace Paramount+ in the Nordics, with titles from the existing player such as Halo and Yellowstone moving to the new platform.

SkyShowtime’s monthly price will be €6,99 in Finland, SEK 79 in Sweden, NOK 79 in Norway, and DKK 69 in Denmark. It will be available through the following distribution partners across its Nordic markets: Allente, RiksTV, Ruutu, Sappa, Strim, Telenor, Tele2, Telia, Telmore and YouSee from Nuuday Group, and TV 2 PLAY.
