Management changes for Vodafone Deutschland and VodafoneZiggo

Vodafone Deutschland has named Marcel de Groot, chief commercial officer of Vodafone’s Dutch JV with Liberty Global, VodafoneZiggo, as its new managing director for consumer business.

De Groot, a Vodafone veteran, has served as head of the consumer business at Vodafone since the company was created in 2017. Previously he served as director of the consumer business unit at Vodafone Netherlands, where he was responsible for all sales and marketing activities.

He has also previously served as director of consumer business for Vodafone Ireland.

“With Marcel de Groot, we are gaining an experienced marketing and sales expert for Vodafone Germany, who also has in-depth experience in the convergent telecommunications business. I look forward to working with him and wish him every success in his new role,” said Vodafone Deutschland CEO Philippe Rogge.

Robin Kroes

De Groot is replaced as VodafoneZiggo’s consumer chief by Robin Kroes, previously executive director, strategy, insights and integration and a member of the VodafoneZiggo board since 2017. He played a significant role in overseeing the integration of Vodafone Netherlands and Liberty Global’s UPC Netherlands. Kroes will take up his new post as of September 1.

Kroes himself will be replaced by Fleur van Beem, who becomes executive director, strategy, insights and digital transformation.

Van Been joined the management of VodafoneZiggo in October last year and has been responsible for digital transformation since then. Her department will be merged with the one formerly headed by Kroes.
