Metadata outfit MetaBroadcast names ex-Amino exec Mackinlay as CEO

UK-based metadata specialist MetaBroadcast has named Jamie Mackinlay as CEO.

Jamie Mackinlay

Mackinlay has had several executive roles in media technology companies, including Amino, ADB Global and Singula Decisions.

He was appointed as Amino’s global VP of marketing in 2018, having previously served as SVP of sales, marketing and business development at ADB Global.

MetaBroadcast says it offers automated and enriched metadata that powers content discovery and insights.

The company provides its metadata to broadcasters, streaming service providers and a range of media organisations.

Its automated metadata cloud platform, Atlas, aggregates sources of content data. MetaBroadcast also utilises industry standard data science techniques combined with proprietary technology to automate processes to ingest, enrich and manage large amounts of metadata at speed, the company says.

Founded in 2007, MetaBroadcast is headquartered in London, UK.

Karthik Dasari, shareholder and director of MetaBroadcast said: “I am delighted to welcome Jamie Mackinlay to the team. He combines 25 years in the media industry with world-class capabilities in go-to-market strategy, sales effectiveness, and brand awareness making Jamie the ideal person to drive MetaBroadcast forward with our 3-5 year growth strategy.”

Mackinlay said: “It’s a great time to be joining the MetaBroadcast team as it’s increasingly understood throughout the media and entertainment industry that high quality metadata is the raw material that enables effective content discovery, helping viewers find the content they crave. MetaBroadcast is well placed to grow rapidly as it already provides high-quality automated metadata services to many leading media companies, and I look forward to driving it to even greater success.”
