India’s QYou to launch dedicated gaming channel

Indian youth media group, QYou Media, has announced the launch of a brand new channel dedicated to videogames.

Q GameX will launch in September 2022, and provide round-the-clock coverage of gaming content ranging from esports and gameplay streams to unboxing experiences and insights on gaming hardware.

The group said that India is set to become one of the world’s leading gaming industry markets, with an expected 450 million online players in 2023 second only to China. Its market is expected to treble in value to reach US$5 billion by 2025.

Q GameX will be the fourth channel launched by QYou in 2022, and comes several months after the launch of new broadcast channel Q Marathi.

Krishna Menon, COO of The Q India, said: “We are executing on our goal this year of becoming a leading provider of genre based channels to audiences adopting Connected TV’s as a primary destination for their viewing time. Our unique and socially connected content style is perfectly aligned with what this audience is looking for. We believe that Q GameX presents an enormous opportunity on these platforms.”
