FAST channel wedo movies extends reach with Zattoo and HbbTV

Germany’s Video Solutions AG is making its advertising-financed, free feature film channel wedo movies accessible via TV streaming provider Zattoo.

The FAST offering will be available across all packages, including Zattoo’s free package Free.

In addition to the linear channel, customers of paid Zattoo packages can also use additional interactive functions, such as pausing the current programme and watching it with a time delay, watching missed programmes later and recording programmes.

Separately, wedo movies is expanding its reach via an HbbTV-enabled satellite signal on Astra platform at 19.2° East. Satellite households with a smart TV or receiver that is compatible with the HbbTV standard and is connected to the Internet can access wedo movies via the Astra channel listing. HbbTV signaling is provided via Astra, but the channel is delivered to the screen via the Internet.

The FAST film channel can currently be received on Deutsche Telekom’s MagentaTV, Samsung TV Plus, Zattoo, waipu.tv, rlaxx TV, LG Channels, Philips, Rakuten TV, Xiaomi, Netgem and TCL.

“The partnership with Zattoo and the path to satellite households are further important steps towards expanding the distribution of wedo movies and making it as easy as possible for viewers to receive the channel,” said Philipp Rotermund, founder and CEO of Video Solutions AG .

“The reach is thus increasing again after Deutsche Telekom recently included wedo movies on its TV platform MagentaTV. Negotiations are ongoing with other platform operators.”
