Rakuten TV brings 91 channels to Plex

VOD platform operator Rakuten TV is bringing dozens of channels to streaming platform Plex.

Rakuten TV has announced that 91 linear channels will be available on the Plex platform in Spain, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway. The offer will include Rakuten TV thematic Film Channels, covering various genres, such as Drama, Romance, Thriller, Action, Comedy, Documentaries and Family, consisting of titles sourced from top Hollywood and Local Content partners.

Rakuen TV said that this is the latest step in its expansion away from mostly being a TVOD store and becoming an AVOD and FAST business.

Plex now offers over 50,000 free titles, movies, live TV shows, sports and music available to stream in over 180 countries, and claims to be the most comprehensive entertainment platform available today.
