Digi sees strong growth in subscribers and top line

Romania-based services provider Digi has posted strong Q1 financial results on the back of strong growth in subscriber numbers.

The group saw its revenue-generating unit total rise by 2.5 million units in the quarter to 18.7 million.

In Romania Digi has 14.4 million, RGU’s 9.5% up year-on-year, lifted by strong mobile and broadband growth.

In Spain, its other key international market, Digi saw a 29% jump in mobile users and growth in broadband. Mobile phone users in Spain totalled 3.2 million by the end of March, while the number of broadband customers reached 575,000.

Revenue in Spain amounted to €111 million for the quarter, up 42%.

Overall, Digi’s revenues from continuing operations were up 21% in the first quarter to €361 million, Adjusted EBITDA was up 6.1% to €105 million.

The quarter saw completion of the sale of Digi Hungary to 4iG for €625 million.
