Together TV picks Red Bee Media for streaming launch

Together TV and Red Bee Media have partnered to launch what they describe as the UK’s first social purpose streaming service.

The free-to-view streamer is an offshoot of the The Community Channel owned linear Together TV network. It targets a women’s audience aged 40 to 60, with programming related to health and wellness, hobbies, and creativity.

The service, whose apps will be revealed over the coming weeks and months, will act as an extension of its linear TV channel. Programming will continue to include factual entertainment and thought-provoking documentaries

The streaming service will be operated by Red Bee on its OTT platform, including the use of content protection with Just in Time delivery of DRM. The tech firm said that its complete OTT managed service will allow Together TV to focus on its content and marketing offering.

Alexander Kann, CEO at Together TV said: “We are proud to launch this brand-new service that allows our viewers to enjoy Together TV’s inspiring shows and documentaries for free, anytime and anywhere in the UK. In addition, we hope this platform will help viewers to feel good and connected to the world around them.

“We selected Red Bee Media based on the company’s service delivery expertise, market understanding and as a good company to work with.
