Salto joins Amazon Prime Video Channels

France’s homegrown SVOD service Salto has struck a partnership agreement with Amazon Prime Video that will see the streamer become available to Prime subscribers within Prime Video Channels.

From May, Amazon Prime members will be able to subscribe directly to Salto via their Amazon accounts.

Salto said that the move would enable Amazon Prime customers to experience Salto integrated within their Prime Video service and available on any screen.

Salto Prime Video Channels subscribers will pay €6.99 to access the service, which will give them access to originals and seasons of French drama, movies and live programming.

The deal for inclusion in Prime Channels follows an agreement between the pair that saw Salto made available via Amazon Fire TV Cube and Amazon Fire TV Stick, with voice commands available via Amazon Alexa.

“Putting the Salton platform inside Prime Video is a new step forwards that enables us to accelerate our development on Ott and grow further our visibility while enriching very significantly the French programming offer accessible directly to Amazon Prime members. Thanks to this partnership, Salto and Prime Video are together responding to the challenge of the new expectations and habits of the French public,” said Thomas Follin, CEO of Salto.
