YouTube TV comes to TiVo Stream 4K in ‘first integration of its kind’

TiVo has announced the integration of YouTube TV into its TiVo Stream 4K device.

Described as the ‘first integration of its kind among streaming products’, the partnership will see YouTube TV’s channel offering placed within the device’s TV guide. A total of 85 channels will be available to users, including national broadcast affiliates such as ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, along with sports and news channels like ESPN, NFL Network and PBS.

TiVo said that the integration – which contrasts to other devices where YouTube TV content is only viewable on a standalone app – will make controlling the experience easier and more efficient.

Key features of the announcement include integration with the TiVo Stream 4K guide, and enhanced search which leans on TiVo’s discoverability tech.

Ben Maughan, general manager, Stream Platform at TiVo, said: “As TiVo’s business has evolved from pioneering digital video recording to streaming products and services, our success has been grounded in understanding consumer preferences and delivering exactly what consumers want.

“The highly requested YouTube TV addition represents the largest content-related integration update since the launch of TiVo Stream 4K. Providing consumers with an integrated experience that includes premier live TV with a partner like YouTube TV is a significant step to becoming a leading streaming platform in the market.”
