The HbbTV Association has announced the addition of seven new members to the body.

The association is a global initiative dedicated to providing open standards for the delivery of advanced interactive TV services through broadcast and broadband networks for connected TV sets and set-top boxes.

The group has announced that seven new companies have joined the association over the past 12 months. These include: ATET (France), Digita Oy (Finland), Ocean Blue Software (OBS, UK), Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb, Germany), Skyworth Group & Shenzhen Chuangwei-RGB Electronics (China), Synamedia (UK) and ZEASN Europe (Netherlands).

The latest addition takes membership of the HbbTV Association to a total of 75 members from across the broadcast and broadband industry.

Vincent Grivet, chair of the HbbTV Association, said: “We are honoured and excited about more than half a dozen new members joining the HbbTV Association in the past year. This clearly confirms the significance of the HbbTV specifications among companies from different parts of the industry across all platforms. I would like to encourage all industry players interested in shaping the TV and OTT world of the future to join the HbbTV Association as a member.”
