Broadpeak unveils new software-as-a-service streaming offering

Video distribiution technology outfit Broadpeak has unveiled its new advanced video streaming service, broadpeak.io.

The company’s new software as a service, API-based platform is designed to offer content providers, pay TV operators, and OTT service providers an easy, fast, and reliable way to deliver advanced streaming quality to their subscribers, according to the company.

Since 2010, Broadpeak has been a provider of content delivery network (CDN) and video delivery solutions. The company says that broadpeak.io builds upon this foundation by offering an alternative to bulk streaming methods in the form of an API platform that will evolve to host several applications related to advanced video streaming. The first application available on broadpeak.io will support contextualized streaming needs, with a blackout service.

“Today is a very exciting day for the whole Broadpeak team, who have worked tirelessly to create this service and bring it to market. We’ve created a truly brilliant service offering that directly addresses the needs of anyone who streams video, and we’re thrilled to show our customers everything broadpeak.io has to offer,” said Jacques Le Mancq, CEO at Broadpeak.

“broadpeak.io takes the trusted framework that Broadpeak is already known for and makes it available as a service in the cloud, resulting in unparalleled simplicity and scalability for our customers. It’s built to grow as our customers grow and will develop increased functionalities in the months and years to come, keeping pace with the ever-evolving nature of video delivery systems,” said Mathias Guille, vice president of cloud platform at Broadpeak.
