TN marketing taps Simplestream for Craftsy expansion

Streaming service operator TN Marketing has has chosen technology provider Simplestream to help expand its Craftsy offering to mobile and tablet devices along with its other brands.

Craftsy features online courses and various other forms of video content focusing on crafts, hobbies, and lifestyle topics.

Craftsy is using Simiplestream’s App Platform to deliver a service featuring over 1,500 online classes, available across desktop, Roku, FireTV, and now iOS and Android devices.

Simplestream has rolled out new functionalities to bring transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) purchasing to the applications via in-app purchase workflows, and to make the checkout experience frictionless, the tech provider said.

Simplestream’s platform is integrated with Crafty’s own authentication platform, making the experience consistent across devices. Classes can be purchased directly from the apps with a single tap, then played back on any supported device, including desktop.

Simplestream said that the launch opened the way for expansion of the service to previously untapped markets across the globe.
