TIM reorganises management with technology and strategy chiefs to go

Telecom Italia (TIM) is reorganising its management, with Nicola Grassi, chief technology and operations officer, and Carlo Nardello, chief strategy, business development and transformation officer, both to leave the Company.

Grassi’s role will be merged into a new chief network, operations and wholesale office function assigned to Stefano Siragusa who will take on the role of deputy to the general manager.

Claudio Ongaro has been named as interim strategy and business development chief in a new role.

New roles of chief consumer, small and medium market officer, assigned on an interim basis to Pietro Labriola, chief enterprise market officer, assigned to Massimo Mancini and a brand strategy and commercial communication function, assigned on an interim basis to Sandra Aitala, have been created.

Procurement is to be headed on an interim basis by Simone De Rose, while Paolo Chiriotti, reporting directly to the general manager, will be the reference person for the management of business transformation projects.

Grassi and Nardello will receive severance indemnity in accordance with the remuneration policy approved by the company’s shareholders last year.

The management changes follow CEO Luigi Gubitosi’s announced departure in the wake of a €10.8 billion bid for the company by private equity outfit KKR, with chairman Salvatore Rossi taking over the CEO responsibilities on an interim basis

TIM’s this week appointed Goldman Sachs and LionTree as advisors on KKR’s bid. The Gatti Pavesi, Bianchi and Ludovici law firm has been named as legal advisor.
