OTT platform Alchimie has announced the appointment of Sam Thompson as its new chief content officer.
An experienced TV figure, Thompson has held a number of board-level positions in media businesses both in Australia and the UK. He joins from content distribution business LGI Media (AU), where he was managing director.
At Alchimie, Thompson will be responsible for acquiring English, Spanish, French, German and Italian programming across all genres to add to Alchimie’s library of multi-language premium content across 150 themed OTT channels in the US, UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain.

Thompson said: “Alchimie has one of Europe’s largest digital broadcast networks and recently launched in the US. It’s a rapidly expanding company in an exciting sector and it great to be joining Alchimie at this stage of its growth. I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running.”
