Rakuten TV launches new sports channels

VOD and streaming platform Rakuten TV has added a selection of sports channels to its free-to-view linear offering.

The new channels available to viewers include the American Football-focused European League of Football, lifestyle channel PlayersTV, SportItalia, SportOutdoorTV, and Unbeaten.

The channels join an existing portfolio of sports channels available on Rakuten TV which includes: EdgeSport, ESTV, FTF For The Fans, FUEL TV, Hard Knocks Fighting Championship, Impact! Wrestling, InTrouble TV, Lax Sports Network, MAVTV Motorsports Network, MMA TV, Motor 1, MotorSport, The Tennis Channel, USGA and World Poker Tour.

All channels are accessible for free on the Rakuten TV app on Samsung and LG Smart TV devices (models from 2019).

Rakuten TV claims to have 45% more regular viewers than average and said that it presents a “focused opportunity for advertisers to connect with particularly engaged audiences.” The platform is available in more than 90 million households across Europe.
