MIPCOM to run global streamers keynote series

The forthcoming MIPCOM event in Cannes, returning for the first time since the pandemic, has unveiled a new global streamers keynote series, to take place over two days on Monday October 11 and Tuesday October 12, that will feature speakers from Discovery+, Paramount+, Pluto TV and Viaplay.

The series will take the form of 20-minute back-to-back interviews in the Debussy Theatre, Palais des Festivals, on programming strategies, production briefs, international rollout strategies and partnership.

Speakers, who will be interviewed by Marjorie Paillon, presenter-founder, I Love Productions, are: Myriam Lopez-Otazu, group VP content and acquisitions EMEA and APAC, Discovery, who heads editorial strategy across development and production, acquisitions and planning for both linear and discovery+; Doug Craig, SVP of content strategy,  ViacomCBS Networks International’s (VCNI’s) streaming division, who leads the development of VCNI’s content proposition and channel/programming strategy for Paramount; Olivier Jollet, SVP and general manager of VCNI’s Pluto TV, who heads up international expansion and business development strategies for the FAST service; and Filippa Wallestam, EVP and chief content officer, Nordic Entertainment Group, operator of the Viaplay streaming service.

“This timely new series of keynotes reflects the explosive growth in streamed content and platforms and MIPCOM’s commitment to offering context and insights reflecting these industry shifts. These sessions will give our global audiences the unique opportunity to hear directly from key decision makers about their strategies and production briefs,” said Lucy Smith, director of MIPCOM.

“With the number of participants and buyers still growing daily, we are very much looking forward to a vibrant and long-awaited in-person market in Cannes.”
