SPI/FilmBox has continued its expansion in Western Europe with a new distribution deal in Ireland.
The broadcaster has agreed a deal with Irish telco eir for its channels FilmBox Arthouse, Gametoon, Fast&FunBox, DocuBox and FashionBox. The channels will be offered in the eir TV Extra extended basic package.
FilmBox Arthouse is dedicated to classic world cinema, featuring the work of iconic directors like Alfred Hitchcock and Akira Kurosawa. Gametoon HD meanwhile is oriented around gaming and esports content, while Fast&FunBox hosts a range of adrenaline sports. DocuBox and FashionBox, as their titles would suggest, offer viewers documentary and fashion content respectively.
Georgina Twiss, MD Western Europe & Africa at SPI International, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with eir, as they continue to build their business in Ireland and strengthen their content proposition. With hundreds of hours of content spanning all genres, we are excited to be adding even more value to the eir TV Extra pack for eir customers to enjoy.”
