Molotov launches on Xbox

French OTT TV service Molotov has launched on the Xbox game console. Gaming fans can now access the offering via the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S devices.

Molotov said that the launch provided an opportunity to reach a new segment of the market, with game consoles representing an important alternative way to access services to other connected TV devices including Blu-ray players, Apple TV, Xiaomi Box, Amazon Fire TV sticks and Chromecast.

It said that Microsoft’s latest generation of consoles provided a step-change in the viewing experience thanks to the immediacy and precision of the display but also to the availability of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, providing an enhanced viewing experience for Molotov’s 4K content.

Molotov said it was the only app on the Xbox to offer free access to Channels of TV including the country’s digital-terrestrial channels and new AVOD service Mango, which launched in November, as well as innovative features such as startover and cloud recording.

Molotov’s Xbox app will also be offered by the company as part of its white label B2B offering Molotov Solutions.

“Molotov counts a great number of gamers among its most active users. We launched a dedicated Gamer Zone for them just over a year ago. And we are delighted to be able to meet the expectations of those that want to find us on their Xbox to benefit to the maximum from the capabilities of the console,” said Olivier Kouvarakis, chief marketing officer at Molotov.
