Parrot Analytics: Another strong showing for The Umbrella Academy

Netflix’s comic book adaptation The Umbrella Academy continues to be a hit for the streamer, being the most popular title in Parrot Analytics’ originals in-demand chart in Switzerland for the week ending August 23.

Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms. The analyst illustrates demand expressions based on how much more popular a charted title is than an average TV show.

The Umbrella Academy continued its stint at the top of the pile with 23.3 times the demand of an average show, with Netflix’s returning Lucifer in a distant second with 14.5 times the demand of an average show and perennial favourite Stranger Things in sixth with 8.4 times the demand of an average show.

Disney+’s The Mandalorian was the highest non-Netflix entry with 12.6 times the demand of an average show, setting it in third. The other non-Netflix shows are CBS All Access’s Star Trek: Picard in seventh (8.4 times the demand of an average show), DC’s Stargirl in eighth (8.2 times the demand of an average show), and Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale in ninth (7.1 times the demand of an average show).

Netflix’s other entries have a decidedly European flavour, with German Dark in fourth, Spanish La Casa Del Papel in fifth and British The Crown in tenth.
