Baltcom taps CryptoGuard for content security

Baltcom, Latvia’s second largest MSO, has tapped CryptoGuard to provide content security as it proceeds to fully digitise its cable TV network.

Baltcom is Latvia’s second largest television and internet service provider with a fibre optic coverage area including 20 towns and cities across the country. Baltcom is now fully owned by the mobile operator Bite Latvija.

According to CryptoGuard, Baltcom identified significant opportunities for cost reduction in its choice of CAS.

CryptoGuard CAS, Conditional Access System claims to offer low entry cost and a pay as you grow business model for digital TV operators. The CAS includes an integrated Subscriber Management System (SMS) with ability of remote management. Both cardless and card-based CAS clients are based on ecurity meeting the requirements for up to HD premium content.
