Apart from distribution via M7’s own local DTH platforms for central and eastern Europe, FocusSat and UPC Direct, the agreements include the satellite delivery of the channels to third party operators within the Europe-wide footprint.

The newly signed-up channels are: kids channels JimJam Hungary and JimJam Romania from AMC Networks International – Central and Northern Europe, with dedicated Hungarian and Romanian feeds; Viasat World’s TV1000 for the Romanian market; Hungarian lifestyle and entertainment channel Life TV and Bollywood channel Bollywood TV localised in Romanian.

M7 Group’s own TV platform serve over three million homes across a number of European markets in the Benelux and central and eastern Europe.

Bill Wijdeveld of M7 Group Platform Services said: “We are very pleased with these new agreements. They confirm our strong position in the central eastern European markets for both DTH distribution and third-party satellite distribution solutions, as well as the attractiveness of 1° West as satellite hot spot for especially the Hungarian and Romanian market. The agreements also confirm that linear TV remains of key importance while there is a continuous demand for new, tailored and localised video content addressing specific target groups.”
