Canal+-owned channel provider M7 Deutschland has begun providing three UHD TV services to BrightBlue, the white label IPTV service provider launched by fibre network provider Deutsche Glasfaser in 2018 that serves a number of partners across the country.
M7 Deutschland is providing Insight TV UHD, Fashion 4K and Love Nature 4K, which it hadded to its portfolio of cable channels last June, to BrightBlue. The latter is now offering the three channels to its distribution partners, including fibure network operators, multincipal utilities and others.
The deal comes as BrightBlue prepares to start offering 4K-capable IPTV boxes to its partners.
M7 and BrightBlue had already agreed to cooperate in the distribution of IPTV channels early last year. The partnership agreement gave BrightBlue access to over 140 channels from the likes of RTL, ProSiebenSat.1 and other German-language and international channels for distribution to potential or current customers for M7 content.
“High-quality networks need high-quality content with which they can fully exploit their capabilities. We are delighted that network operators with BrightBlue technology can now also market their IPTV offer with UHD channels. Consumers will only switch from satellite or cable television to IPTV when they see added value, and this added value means first of all easy access to exclusive content,” said Christian Heinkele, managing director of Eviso Germany, M7’s business partner in Germany.
“The television of the future is IPTV, and 4K content on our platform offers exactly what the viewer expects in a unique television experience over a broadband internet connection. We have integrated this high-quality line-up into our platform and can now supply it to our customers, expanding our extensive range of services,” said Savio Dias, CEO of BrightBlue.
