UPC TV launched on Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire

Liberty Global-owned leading Swiss telco UPC has launched its UPC TV service on streaming devices.

UPC TV offers users access to over 240 channels, including the live sports-broadcasting MySports One channel. The service launched in October 2018, with the operator saying that there are more than 290,000 UPC TV boxes being used in Swiss households.

With the launch of the app on Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV at no extra charge, users will be able to extend UPC TV to other rooms without the necessity to purchase or install additional set top boxes.

In addition, individual users are able to create personalised profiles across their range of devices. The company said that this “allows each person in the household to save their personal preferences, UPC TV offers individualized content, regardless of the device”.

Stefan Fuchs, chief commercial officer of UPC, said: “Evolving customer needs are at the centre of everything we do at UPC. We have therefore expanded our TV experience to offer our customers the freedom to watch TV not only anytime and everywhere, but also on all the devices they like to use. We are convinced that thanks to this seamless 360 degree integration, our customers will enjoy the advantages of our UPC TV App more often and even more intensely.”
