Broadcaster beIN Media has agreed a deal to bring its free-to-air channel beIN Sports Xtra to Samsung TV Plus.
The channel initially launched in November 2019 on the Roku Channel, utilising beIN’s existing English and Spanish feed to drive awareness of the brand and content “that would otherwise be crowded out of the live premiere window given the extensive rights offering in the US.”
This latest deal will extend the channel’s exposure to millions of Samsung TV owners, and joins nearly 100 free channels on the Samsung TV Plus service. beIN Sports Xtra is available to watch on Samsung TV Plus, channel 1062.
Content shown on beIN Sports Xtra includes coverage of La Liga, Ligue 1, the Turkish SüperLig, FFHandball and DR1 Racing
Antonio Briceño, beIN Sports deputy managing director for North America, said: “We are thrilled to join the Samsung TV Plus family of free programming. Adding beIN Sports Xtra to free streaming television services gives sports fans everywhere a consistent live sampling of our world-class content. We look forward to a successful ongoing partnership with the Samsung team.”
