VoxAfrica launches on Freeview OTT platform Channelbox

Pan-African bi-lingual TV Channel VoxAfrica has launched on the UK’s Freeview DTT service via Channelbox.

Channelbox launched in September 2019 as a streaming TV service that bundles a curated selection of free-to-air TV channels of various genres and languages, delivering them to the Freeview platform OTT.

VoxAfrica will sit alongside TV channels such as France24, Hellenic TV, Faith UK, Retro Movies and Law&Crime. The new channel offers a variety of African news, current affairs, dramas, soaps, documentaries and the biggest reality music show in Africa, The Voice Afrique Francophone.

Head of Channelbox business development Tanya Kronfli said: “It’s been incredible few months since we launched Channelbox on Freeview 271 and we are beyond happy to see how the platform is rapidly expanding delivering new unique TV channels to the biggest TV platform in the UK.”

VoxAfrica director Sora Yago-Boli said: “We are thrilled to be the first African entertainment channel on Freeview and excited to expand our viewership in the UK through this innovative technology.”

This expansion adds to VoxAfrica’s pre-existing availability in the on Sky. VoxAfrica is also available in France on a range of services including free and Bbox, in Belgium on Numericable and in Switzerland on UPC Cablecom.
