Parrot Analytics: 13 Reasons Why claims top spot in Germany

Stranger Things has finally been dethroned from the top spot of Parrot Analytics’ originals in-demand chart, with Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why narrowly edging ahead in Germany for the week ending September 8.

The controversial teen drama drew 12.7 million average demand expressions, compared to Stranger Things which managed 12 million a little over two months since its third season launch.

Orange Is The New Black is considerably behind both in third with 6.7 million average demand expressions.

Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms.

Elsewhere, Carnival Row, Amazon’s attempt at creating a high-budget Game Of Thrones-esque adult fantasy drama, sits in seventh place with 4.1 million average demand expressions.

Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance, the prequel series to Jim Henson and Frank Oz’s 1982 cult classic, proved to be the more successful new fantasy series, with 4.4 million average demand expressions. Though there is little difference between Mindhunter in fourth (4.5 million average demand expressions) and GLOW in tenth (3.8 million average demand expressions).

In total, Netflix made up seven of the chart, with the rest being Amazon Prime Video series.
