Sony is launching what it calls the UK’s first free-to-air movie network, called Sony Movies Network.
The new-look network is a rebrand of Sony’s existing UK entertainment networks to create one cohesive unit.
Launching on September 10, the Sony Movies network will combine Sony Movies, Sony Movies Action and Sony Movies Christmas. Sony-owned True Entertainment will also be rebranded as Sony Channel, while Sony Movies Classic will launch in January 2020.
All of the channels will be available to view on Freeview, Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media and will play host to iconic Sony movies including Hitch, Air Force One, Vanilla Sky, Bad Boys, Breakout and The Missionary Man.
Sony says that the move is an attempt to unify its disparate channels under one simpler brand.
