A+E appoints new Asia MD

Saugato Banerjee

A+E Networks has promoted Saugato Banerjee to managing director for Asia.

Banerjee previously was the company’s managing director for North Asia. 

The move will effectively consolidate operations across the entire Asia region under the control of a single executive.  

In this role, Banerjee will be responsible for Southeast Asia, North Asia (Korea, China, Japan), Taiwan, Hong Kong, and India, where he will chart the continued growth and expansion of A+E Networks throughout the region. 

Banerjee joined the company in 2011, and has developed strategic media and production partnerships, along with spearheading the successful launches of History and Lifetime in Korea, and played a key role in achieving record ratings for History Japan.
