Twitch announces star-studded tournament for E3

Gaming streaming platform Twitch has announced a ‘celebrity showdown’ tournament of Rainbow Six: Siege to take place at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) on June 10 with a US$100,000 (€89,260) prize pool.

As a part its Twitch Rivals series of competitive events designed from the ground up for Twitch streamers and viewers, the tournament will be broadcast immediately after Rainbow Six: Siege publisher Ubisoft’s E3 media briefing. It will be aired on the Ubisoft Twitch channel, the channel of each participating streamer and the Twitch Rivals channel.

Famous musicians and millennial personalities Faheem “T-Pain” Najm and Miles “Lil Yachty” McCollum will serve as team captains, with popular streamers competing on either side.

The winning team’s chosen charity will receive US$40,000 (€35,704), with the losing team’s charity receiving US$10,000 (€8,926). US$50,000 (€44,630) will be divided between the winning team’s streamers.

This is the latest outing for the widely popular title, which has become one of the most popular esports titles and is played professionally at events around the world.
