Sky Deutschland is to broadcast an unprecedented 232 live English Premier League football matches on its platform next season, with the 148 other matches from the competition to be aired in a delayed window.
Sky has secured the exclusive rights to to the completion for satellite, cable, IPTV, web and mobile in Germany and Austria, a well as the exclusive German-speaking rights in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein
Sky Deutschland’s new agreement means that it will air the three seasons from this year exclusively. Football fans without a Sky subscription will also be able to view matches via the Sky Ticket streaming service without a long-term contract.
Sky will show more matches than previous rightsholder, streaming service DAZN. Sky secured the rights to the next set of seasons in October, but the scope of its plans was only announced this week.
