Altice France names new BFMTV chief

Altice France has named Marc-Olivier Fogiel as director-general of news channel BFMTV.

Fogiel succeeds Hervé Beroud, who has been named deputy  CEO of Altice Media, the group’s overall media arm, in charge of sport and news. Fogiel will report to Beroud.

“The arrival of Marc-Olivier, a remarkable journalist, at the head of BFMTV, symbolises our intention to write the next page in the history of France’s leading news channel. Marc-Olivier’s mission will be to pursue the development of BFMTV and bring to the channel his great experience, his rigour, his vision of news, his strong sense of responsibility and his managerial qualities,” said Alain Weill, CEO of Altice France.

Fogiel said: “To join BFMTV represents for me a new professional chapter which I embrace with enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility. I hope to be able to contribute to furthering the impressive success of the channel reaffirming its fundamentals and continuing to innovate with a team that has proven its professionalism and commitment.
