Russian service provider Akado’s Belarus subsidiary Cosmos Telecom has launched its first 4K UHD TV channel. The Ultra 4K Extreme channel’s launch on the Minsk digital cable network marks the 25th anniversary of Cosmos TV’s launch in Belarus.
The extreme sports and entertainment channel is available in English and features sports including kiteboarding, snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, high-speed driving, skateboarding, climbing and parkour.
Subscribers are required to have a 4K-capable TV fitted with a compact CI+ CAM module to receive the channel.
Akado commercial chief Maxim Chernov said that Cosmos’s subscribers were the first in Belarus to receive 4K content.
