US over-the-top video service Xumo reported a 325% rise in viewership and a 90% increase in user consumption over the past year for its free streaming service.
At the same time the company announced four new content partnerships with Eleven Sports, ATTN:, Endemol Shine Group, and Genius Brands.
These deals add six new channels to Xumo’s on-demand TV offering: Eleven Sports; ATTN:; two Endemol Shines kids channels, Mr Bean and Friends and Puddle Jumper; and two Genius Brands channels, Kid Genius Cartoon Channel and Baby Genius TV.
With the agreements, Xumo now offers more than 140 digital channels of free programming across 12 genres – including sports, news, live events, comedy, lifestyle, movies and kids and family entertainment.
“We attribute Xumo’s tremendous success to several factors – a focus on delivering free, best-in-class content to a rapidly expanding consumer base, and by providing significant opportunities to advertisers who leverage our insights to engage highly segmented audiences in more targeted, measurable ways,” said Xumo CEO Colin Petrie-Norris.
“The demand for and opportunities in streaming television will continue to surge as barrier-breaking services like Xumo challenge traditional models while giving consumers exactly what they want.”
