Zoomin.TV agrees long-form series deal with Tencent

MTG-owned online video network Zoomin.TV has agreed to produce a six-episode original long-form series for the Chinese Internet giant Tencent.

Reality knock-out show The Amazing Drone Race (6×25’) will be distributed on Tencent’s video platform and will be filmed half in China and half on location around the world.

“We’re very pleased to extend and intensify our special relationship with Tencent Video and providing the Gen Z in China a spectacular long-form original series,” said Zoomin.TV CEO, Roger Lodewick.

Tencent Video’s director of documentary content management, Lexian Zhu, said: “The Amazing Drone Race explores the possibilities for a commercial documentary in the field of Gen Z culture.”

The deal expands on an earlier shortform video deal between Zoomin.TV and Tencent, which was agreed last year.

The news also comes in the same week that Zoomin.TV announced a deal with China’s Baidu to produce a 144-episode original series for the company’s short-form platform, Haokan.
