Kaltura launches new version of TV Platform Player

Kaltura has launched a new version of the Kaltura TV Platform Player in a bid to offer “the ultimate cloud TV viewing experience”.

The company said that the update includes a new web player, new versions of its native software development kits (SDKs) and built-in integration for monetisation, security, and analytics plugins.

The new player was also built on a new infrastructure to allow for optimal performance and scalability, with Kaltura claiming it is able to initiate video playback in under one second.

“The combination of our powerful TV Platform, together with the new player ensures our customers enjoy an even faster time to market and differentiating performance while delivering the ultimate user experience,” said Kaltura co-founder, president and the general manager of Kaltura’s Media and Telecom business unit, Shay David.

“We make it easy for customers to monetise their content in any way they want, while ensuring, the highest level of security, and providing deep analytics to learn from.”

The new Kaltura TV Platform Player is already live with various customers across the globe including Viacom18 in India, which is using it to power its VOOT service.

The Player supports all common web browsers and its SDKs cover the Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, iOS and Android platforms.
