Swiss alternative telecom operator Sunrise saw its TV subscriber base grow by 25.7% in the year to March to reach 220,900, boosted by its offer a converged tariff, improved TV sports content and dedicated promotions.
Sunrise said that its TV service had benefited from the popularity of the converged Sunrise One plan, and the addition of sports content from Germany’s Sky and Swisscom’s pay TV affiliate Teleclub.
Fixed internet subscribers grew by 11.6% over the same period to 430,700, while contract mobile customers increased by 7.6% year-on-year to stand at 1.63 million.
The telco saw the number of prepaid mobile customers fall in the same period, dropping by 10.5% to 726,000. Fixed voice customers on the other hand rose by 4.7% to reach 443,000.
Overall, Sunrise’s Q1 revenues increased by 6.4% year-on-year to reach CHF459 million (€384 million), while adjusted EBITDA dipped by 3.5% to reach CHF138 million.
