Dominique Delport move to Vice confirmed

Vice has confirmed that it has appointed former Vivendi Content head Dominique Delport as its president of international and chief revenue officer.

News first emerged of the company’s intentions to hire Delport earlier this month.

It has now been confirmed that Delport will report directly to Nancy Dubuc, who recently moved over to Vice as CEO from A+E. She takes over from former CEO Shane Smith, who now moves to an executive chairman role.

Delport, who was also formerly global managing director at Havas Group, brings in experience across TV, digital and mobile as well as operational and revenue expertise, to his new job.

In his new role, Delport will spearhead the generation of revenue across linear, mobile and digital, and oversee the company’s ongoing global expansion.

He will work on revenue streams for Virtue as well as Vice’s in-house divisions that specialise in creating content, experiences and thought leadership for brands, agencies and publishers.

Delport said: “The role fits like a glove, as it unites all of my passions – journalism, content creation, digital and international business development.

“The young generation is demanding, and we will deliver for them. This means rolling out our offerings and digital platforms beyond our first 40 territories and continuing to produce our video content and news, but also inventing new ways to connect with and engage these audiences.”

The move marks Vice’s ongoing team transition, as it attempts to clean up its corporate culture after claims of sexual harassment were made about a range of players in the company.
