Vodafone Deutschland has integrated Netflix’s subscription video-on-demand service into its GigaTV advanced TV offering.
Netflix’s service is now available on the GigaTV 4K UHD TV-capable set-top for consumption on the TV and on smartphones and tablets via the GigaTV app.
Vodafone said that Netflix’s 1,200 hours of UHD content would now be avialble to Vodafone TV subscribers via the GigaTV box.
Rolf Wierig, Vodafone Deutschland’s head of consumer entertainment products, said that Vodafone had “never before” integrated such a large entertainment offering on the GigaTV platform. Vodafone already includes access to Sky and Maxdome content on its service.
Vodafone last year used Netflix to showcase the capabilities of its 4K TV service in Spain, the first to launch in the country.
Vodafone Deutschland launched GigaTV last year exclusively on its cable network for €14.99 a month, with an app-only version also available for €9.99.
