China-based set-top box specialist Hybroad and Denmark-based middleware provider Nordija have teamed up to deliver an integrated IPTV and OTT set-top system for telco Air Link to launch an upgraded TV offering for viewers in Trinidad and Tobago next year.

The platform integrates the Nordija middleware platform fokusOn on the new 4K HEVC Hybroad box with new features, according to the pair.

Air Link operates a digital cable pay TV service, as well as telecom services, on Trinidad and Tobago.

“We’re happy to see the joint solution of Nordija middleware on Hybroad STB, providing the operator market a cost-effective and ready-to-go IPTV/OTT STB solution with functions like EPG, linear TV, VOD, catch-up, nPVR and much more, both available on Linux and Android platform,” said Kevin Xia, VP at Hybroad.

“It has been a great collaboration and we are excited about the possibilities for the future. Airlink has great potential and Hybroad fits excellent in their future plans,” said Jeroen van Vliet, CCO at Nordija.

“We see this partnership with Nordija as playing a critical role in achieving our goal of always evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of the pay TV market,” said Keenan Singh, Airlink.
