MTG extends grip on handball

Modern Times Group (MTG) has extended its grip on top-tier handball rights for the next six seasons.

The Nordic media group has secured exclusive rights to DKB Handball-Bundesliga until 2.023, covering Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The DKB Handball-Bundesliga is recognised as Europe’s leading handball league, featuring the top 18 German teams.

MTG’s Viasat TV channels and Viaplay streaming service will show up to three live matches from the DKB Handball-Bundesliga each week from the 2017/2018 season, which starts on August 24.

Viasat and Viaplay will also show the three REWE Final Four matches in the DHB-Pokal along with the Pixum Super Cup and the annual HBL All-Star Game between the league’s top players and the German national handball team.
