Spanish regional cable operator Telecable, now owned by Bilbao-based Euskaltel, is closing its online TV football service Tedi.tv.
Tedi.tv users were able to access BeIN Sports’ three La Liga channels and the main BeIN Sports channel, but the service did not include the Movistar Partizado football offering.
Telecable has now said that it is unable to offer La Liga football for the next season with a sustainable business case.
After failing to secure access to the Partizado of Movistar, Telecable offered three packages – Tedi Fútbol feat, uring the Champions League, Europa League and first and second division Spanish football, Tedi Liga, offering La Liga and Copa del Rey matches, again without Movistar’s Partizado, and Tedi UEFA, featuring BeIN Sports Champions and Europa League coverage only.
The service was offered across Spain via a range of devices, including a dedicated Android set-top, the Tedibox, that users could purchase for €60.
