Dutch public broadcasting organisation NPO has revamped its on-demand service and rebranded it from Uitzending Gemist (Missed Broadcast) to NPO Start.
NPO said that the new service is easier to use, with viewers able to create profiles so that they can create playlists and follow their favourite programmes on different devices.
NPO Start users will get recommendations based on their preferences, while site editors will curate programme collections from a range of public broadcasters based on themes and events.
NPO will also offer a subscription offering called NPO Start Plus, which for €2.95 per-month lets users access public broadcast programmes for up to a year after broadcast, in higher image quality, without advertising.
The regular NPO Start service lets viewers watch content for free, but only in a seven-day catch-up window.
