Vodafone Portugal has named João Nascimento as chief technology officer, replacing Livio Borgogno.
Borgogno is leaving the company after completing a five-year term as CTO, where he played a key role in transforming the operator into convergent company and expanding its fibre network.
Nascimento previously was responsible for leading Vodafone’s service design and development team at group level, contributing to the consolidation and harmonisation of Vodafone services in Europe and to the evolution of the group’s TV platform. He led the Vodafone TV Hub development centre headquartered in Lisbon.
Mário Vaz is meanwhile taking over as head of business services, replacing João Mendes Dias, who is leaving the company after 21 years.
