Eutelsat has appointed the former managing director of Louis Dreyfus Holding, Sandrine Téran, as group chief financial officer.

Téran will take up her new role on January 9, replacing Antoine Castarède, who joined Eutelsat from Oger Telecom in September 2013.

Eutelsat said that Castarède will be an advisor to CEO Rodolphe Belmer over the coming months before leaving the company to “pursue other interests”.

Téran was formerly MD of Netherlands-based Louis Dreyfus, a global merchant company involved in agriculture, food processing and international shipping.

Over the past eight years she has held a number of key executive positions in the Louis Dreyfus Group, including global head of tax and corporate secretary.

Commenting on the appointment, Belmer said: “Sandrine’s significant expertise in a wide-range of financial functions and experience in international business will further strengthen our financial leadership. I am delighted to welcome her to Eutelsat and to our executive team.”
