Sky Deutschland’s Star Wars move pulls in the crowds

sky_15-11_gebaeude_584x362Sky Deutschland’s latest experiment in pop-up channels – a Star Wars-dedicated service that aired from October 10-23 – was tuned into by 327,000 unique viewers and secured a total of 1.1 million viewings over the period in which it aired.

Hailing the success of Sky Cinema Star Wars HD, Sky said that the pop-up channel helped Sky Hits – the regular name of the movie channel in that slot – increase its daily reach by 85% and double its daily market share. Overall, the channel had 4.55 million

The most popular Star Wars movie was Star Wars: The Force Awakens, followed by Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
