Developing a hybrid TV offering is key to international pay TV operator M7 Group’s future growth, according to Bill Wijdeveld, VP of business development at M7.
Speaking to Digital TV Europe at the Digital TV CEE event in Budapest this week, Wijdeveld said that people should not underestimate the willingness of viewers in the CEE region to adopt new technologies. M7 Group saw 25,000 users take up its Skylink app in the first four weeks since launch. “There is a strong appetite for these online viewing services,” he said.
Wijdeveld said that the launch of hybrid boxes and a multiscreen app was “the way for us to remain successful and grow further”.
He said that this was a retention tool but would also enable M7 ultimately to secure more revenue when it managed to build up a strong base of users.
Wijdeveld said that the group was rolling out advanced services step by step.
