ProSiebenSAT.1 adds new channel to Telekom agreement

ProSiebenSat.1German broadcaster ProSiebenSAT.1 has expanded its agreement with Deutsche Telekom to make content available for Telekom’s Entertain service, adding HD channel Kabel Eins Doku to the Entertain offering for the first time.

The deal includes the continued mobile distribution of content from ProSieben, SAT.1, Kabel Eins, Sixx, ProSieben Maxx and SAT.1 Gold via the Entertain V Mobil offering.

In addition to bringing factual channel Kabel Eins Doku to the mix, the broadcaster said it would provide its weather app and pay TV channel Wetter.com TV to Telekom.

The agreement includes support for Telekom’s Restart service, allowing viewers to start watching programmes they missed the start of from the beginning, as well as content for the Entertain cloud-based DVR service.

Christof Wahl, board member responsible for distribution and digital entertainment at ProSiebenSAT.1, said that the agreement would create new options that would benefit the broadcaster’s audience.

Separately, Vodafone Deutschland has extended its partnership with pay TV operator Sky to offer live sports, moves and series on its Vodafone TV service, and to offer coverage of German Bundesliga football on its mobile service.

The deal means that Vodafone mobile customers will be able to view the Sky Bundesliga package on their smartphones and tablets.

Florian Landgraf, director of fixed networks at Vodafone Deutschland, said that the partnership would deliver the most attractive TV content at home and on the go via all devices.

Holger, Enßlin, Sky Deutschland’s managing director, legal, regulatory and distribution said that Vodafone was on of the pay TV operator’s most important partners and that the latest agreement would enable it provide premium content in a linear format and on-demand.
